The five criteria
These five criteria are the Robotics Reviewed methodology. We apply them the same way to every company, whatever its size or sector.
- 01
Pricing transparency
Whether list prices, lease rates, robot-as-a-service fees, or typical contract prices are public, and how much a buyer can learn about total cost before talking to sales.
- 02
Product maturity
How long the robot has shipped commercially, how many product generations it has been through, and whether it is generally available or still in pilots.
- 03
Deployment evidence
Named customers, fleet sizes, and hours or tasks completed in real production use, as opposed to demos and announced partnerships.
- 04
Company durability
Funding, revenue signals, ownership, and leadership stability: the odds that the company will still support the robot in five years.
- 05
Ease of integration
Setup time, safety certifications, and fit with existing sites, equipment, and software, including the integrator and support network around the product.
How the score is calculated
Each criterion is scored from 1 to 10, to one decimal place. The overall score is the plain average of the five, with no hidden weighting. A review shows all five criterion scores next to the overall score, so readers can weigh them for their own needs.
What counts as evidence
We score on evidence a reader can check: published price lists and contracts, product documentation and release history, named customer deployments and case studies, funding, ownership, and leadership records, and safety certifications. Every review lists its sources. Where we have to estimate a figure, we label it as an estimate.
Independence
No company can pay to be reviewed, to be left out, or to change its score. Companies may send us corrections of fact, which we check before changing anything. Read our editorial policy.
Updates
Scores change when the evidence does: a new price list, a new product generation, a large deployment, a funding round, or a change in leadership. Each review shows the date it was last updated.
